SpicyChat Review (2026): The Free Plan That Never Ran Out
Verdict: If you mainly want to talk, start here: the free plan gave us unlimited messages and the $5.95 plan removes the waiting lines. Go elsewhere if you want pictures or voice on a budget.
Signing up
You don't have to. Pick who you're interested in on the first screen and you can chat as a guest straight away; we were talking to a bot about 10 seconds after the page loaded. Guests get a banner saying chats won't be saved.
The account itself is passwordless: you type your email, get a 6-digit code (ours arrived in 4 seconds), choose a username and tick "I confirm that I am 18 year or older". No card. The whole thing took us two minutes including checking the inbox.
How much you get for free
This is where SpicyChat wins. We sent 26 messages as a guest and another 26 on a free account. No counter, no "come back tomorrow", no blurred replies. The paid tiers add memory, faster queues and bigger models, but chatting itself is unlimited on every plan, including free.
What you don't get for free: pictures in chat (True Supporter, $19.95) and voice replies (I'm All In, $29.95). An "Unlock Images" card sits in the corner of the chat after a couple of replies. The avatar generator in the character creator did work for free and gave a clean result in about 20 seconds.
Chat quality and memory
Replies are long (150–250 words), mixing italic narration with dialogue, and they take 7 to 11 seconds to arrive in one go. Mild romance wasn't filtered at all.
We opened with "hey, I'm Sam. long day at work" and a detail about our boss. The signed-in girlfriend bot answered:
Oh no, did work give you trouble again today, my poor baby? Come here, let me take care of you!
Six messages later we asked for our name and what we'd said about our day:
Your name is Sam! And… um… your boss was being a total meanie and moved your deadline up by two whole days, so you had to redo that entire quarterly report!
As a guest, a popular fantasy-princess bot failed the same test and called us "Honey", the default name written into her scenario. That's the trade-off of a user-made library: the platform is the same, but each bot is only as good as the person who wrote it. Stick to bots with lots of likes.
Models and characters
Free accounts can switch between six text models (the default is a 26B model with 32K context). The paid tiers unlock bigger ones, up to a 132B in-house model and DeepSeek on I'm All In. The character creator takes a name, greeting, a 5,000-character personality, scenario and example dialogue, and can import character cards from other apps.
Privacy and billing
There's a "Remove Account" option under Profile → Advanced that deletes the account and its data. The NSFW toggle is off by default and there's a separate "blur explicit images" switch. SpicyChat is run by NextDay AI (Canada, US and Cyprus). The refund policy is strict: fees aren't refunded once used, no partial months, no refunds on crypto. We didn't see the bank-statement name stated anywhere.
