Nectar AI Review (2026): Long Roleplay and the Cheapest Yearly Plan We Tested
Verdict: Pick Nectar if you like story roleplay and want the lowest price for unlimited-ish chat: Premium is $59.99 for a year. Use the 15 free messages to check you like the writing first.
Signing up
An 18+ gate, then "Log in or sign up": email, Google, Apple, Telegram, Discord or a crypto wallet. Email is a six-digit code, no password. It refused one of our email addresses outright, so use a mainstream provider. The code arrived in about 30 seconds and we were on the home feed straight away, with no card and no onboarding. About three minutes to the first reply.
How much you get for free
Fifteen messages got replies. The sixteenth opened the plans popup with "Message Limit Reached! Select a plan to continue", and we couldn't find when the limit resets. The chat header shows "0 credits remaining" on a free account, and credits are what pictures, video and the advanced roleplay mode cost, so in practice the free plan is text only.
Chat quality and memory
We picked a featured scenario character (a former teacher you run into at a bar, about 456,000 chats). She opens with a long scripted scene, and every reply after that is a 100–150 word paragraph mixing dialogue with italic narration, arriving in four to seven seconds. It reads like collaborative fiction rather than texting.
Seven messages in, we asked what she remembered:
Your name is Sam, and you told me you had a particularly rough day at work today. Apparently, you're a project manager dealing with logistics, and you faced issues with broken down trucks that your boss ended up blaming you for.
All correct. Mild romance went through without a filter, and she stayed in character the whole time. Each reply also has a voice button with its length.
Prices and billing
Three plans, each half price or less on a yearly bill. Premium at $59.99 a year ($4.99 a month) is the cheapest paid plan in our test, but it caps you at 6,000 messages a month, which is about 200 a day. Ultimate removes the caps and adds 2,500 credits a month. Payment is card (Visa, Mastercard) or Bitcoin. You cancel in Profile, Settings, Subscription, and keep access to the end of the period; to delete the account you have to email support or ask on Discord.
